Adam Matlock | Korg Volca Kick, First Usage @pinguchan1 | Uploaded 1 month ago | Updated 3 hours ago
I’ve been getting into making techno and other electronic music with the Korg Volca series. Currently I am using Beats/Bass/NuBass/FM2, three of them going through a Volca Mix. The Kick is new to me. The sounds are incredible, the versatility and ease of changing tones, and the roll feature add some really great possibilities. I don’t think this could replace the Beats for me, but it could be a nice supplement, to add some cool melodic type syncopation. I can hear it having a pretty incredible usage in a noisy hip hop production, maybe? Has a bit of that 808 kick/bass feeling, and gets very grimy with the “Resonator” feature.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments if you use the Korg Volcas. I’ll be posting more videos as I’m working toward a live set.
