I have gotten tired of bassoonist's comments about the bassoon solo in Rite of Spring. A solo that was written by Igor Stravinsky over a century ago, that starts on C''. My response to this is that this register is today nothing to complain about, and that it is even possible to play the octave above. I my self would need to practice more on the intonation obviously; this is only to get my statement out there.
