Are you ready for relaxing television? Here's some local Reno late night television that actually feels welcoming and fine-tuned to a person dozing off to sleep. In a good way. An end-of-tape find I found a long while ago (meant to upload this around September 2021), this fun bit of local Reno late-night circa January 1985 (thanks to Jack mentioning Super Bowl XIX) was recorded during Guilty or Innocent, Welcome Back Kotter, and Sanford and Son. But that's not the focus of the video.
The main attraction here is Jack Joesph, and he's here to sell you all kinds of local products and services during the commercials, but he does so in such a laid-back and compelling manner that it's actually really cool to watch. Everything is so loud nowadays (even at night), here's something that takes it slow and it works. Jack passed away a couple of years ago, and while I never grew up in Reno I'm certain his work will live forever.
