In 1901 the Japanese composer and pianist Rentarō Taki this melody inspired by a poem composed in 1898 by Bansui Doi: Kōjō no Tsuki. The lyrics refer to Sendai Castle, the music to the ruins of Oka Castle, located in Taketa. This very popular song in Japan is a message of hope and encouragement when all seems lost.
