In Kobe’s final season, Evan Monsky of CSNPhilly.com was tasked to cover the Black Mamba’s final game in his hometown of Philly. As it turned out, Monsky was Kobe’s starting point guard at Lower Merion High School. The former teammates reconnected in the most epic way possible through a press conference.
Evan Monsky: “Kobe, you played with a lot of great point guards. Derek Fisher, Brian Shaw… Me. Who would you say is the best point guard?”
Kobe: “The best passer was, without a shadow, Evan Monsky. No question. Nash is a close second but Monsky… Even when you had a cast. We made those crazy no-look passes.”
