There are two ways of understanding a person, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya explains to us in this powerful philosophical talk. The first is to understand merely the secondary attributes of a person, their outer form. But the second way is to understand the essential nature of a person. It is in understanding their essential nature that we truly know the person within, in and of themselves, and on their own terms. It is only in the latter way that we can truly and meaningfully know God.
