Because knitting in the round is actually a spiral, stripes won't meet exactly unless you use a technique for a jobless join. There are many methods, some better than others, and this is one of my favorites!

Knitting How-To: Jogless Stripes. Work to the end of the last round before color change, then slip the last stitch back to the left needle and make a yarn-over with the color to be used in the next stripe. Slip the end stitch back to the right needle and then begin working with the next color. At the end of the round, knit the yarn-over you created using the current color together with the last stitch from the previous colored stripe. Only the first and last rounds of each stripe are affected. The other rounds can be worked as usual.
