Welcome to my first ever A.I. upscaled video! This is my first time doing this and it's on extremely old footage (the original video came out in 2009 0.0) but I still think the end result is quite good! It definitely has more detail to it. Here's all the changes I made:
- I upscaled it to 4k
- I upscaled it to 60fps
- I increased the brightness a tad
- I increased the sharpness
- I lowered the volume of the whole video as the original is quite loud
While doing all this, there was one goal I kept in mind: to preserve the coloring of the original as much as possible. I see too many upscales that take the original video and alter the color of it to have way to much saturation and/or hue and ruin the original feel. While this upscale may make some colors pop out more, they are still colors the original video had. I want the original coloring to remain intact, just in HD, so the coloring has been left the same as the original :D
All those changes together gave the end result: A modern, updated version of a classic fan film. There are some wavy artifacts you may notice, but that's due to the camera quality this was recorded in and there's no way around that (that I know of). Despite this, I think the end result is worth it, as it's a massive increase in quality for the main details of the scene. I am by no means claiming this fan film as my own, I am simply practicing upscaling on a video I have wanted in higher quality for a long time! ^^
