I started this project for a contest and all the coloured parts were done last year. Unfortunately, I was still new with the whole digital drawing so I got burnt out trying to finish it. Especially drawing Yon Rha. I.just.can't.draw.that.man. The project sat in the corner, collecting dust until I clean the storage. I wished I could finish it, but I don't have the energy and there are other big projects so I decided to finish it up with sketches. It's unfinished, but at least it is done.

Battle Scars part 1 [OC inspirational MAP]

It was fun playing around with the camera movement. The first scene looks a bit inconsistent is because it was made months ago.

The theme of this map is about the OC meets one (or more) of the three spirits and I choose Hope for this since it suites the story of Misty - the stray cat.

Misty (Mistystripe) was a warrior in Shadowclan, but her heart does not belong to the life of clans. She wanted to run freely on the borderless land and she wanted to listen to her own heart than being told what she can and can't do. But to be free would mean she has to leave everything she knows behind, and after seeing a spirit of Hope, she was more confident with her decision than ever.

That was basically a summary. Her story actually has more drama with Starclan and medicine cats but I'll leave it out for now. Maybe I'll do more of her story in the future one day.

The idea of the map is about OCs travel to Dark Forest to persuade the residents or trainees of the Dark Forest (to let go of the past/hatred/anger etc). However, the result can be success or failure.

In this part, the grey cat, Reedpelt, who is a Riverclan medicine cat, wandering around and meet Rushtooth (brown-yellow cat). At first, Rushtooth is hostile but eventually give in and talk to him.

I imagine Rushtooth is more of a reckless, hasty guy who made a dumb mistake when he was alive and when he tried to explain, no one wanted to listen to him. So when he meets Reedpelt, he is touched that there is still someone willing to listen to him.

The idea of this one is about self-conflicted, inspired by my artist friend on DA. I’m happy with how it turns out but I properly won’t work on anything require high editing for a while now.

There had been a lot of trouble when I was making this. I had one month before the deadline, and I've already lost three weeks due to my study schedule. But the most stressful part is that Hitfilm decided it's the best time to throw a fricking tantrum. The lagging is unbearable, some files corrupted and the audio is broken completely. I have to move most of my works back to iMovie and edit it in there. The good thing is now I learn to use the camera movement on iMove ahahaa.

I could have cut the meme shorter and made it more simple, but it was the point of no return when I realised it.

I am the worst enemy of myself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2020 Animation Reel // TW GORE

Oni Lilyn 2020-12-29 | 2020. What a rough year, but this also the year I started animations. I have learned a lot, from tweening to lipsync, animations to editing. It was a while before I knew what I'm doing (hence the early works haha, also these aren't in order). Next year I’ll strike harder and I also want to focus more on animations. We'll see how it go.

Since Blueshadow/Azula cat plays a huge role in Maniac, I think it's fair to have her in this thank you meme (casually putting Katara in the thumbnail.)

It's quite fun drawing atla cats, but I do miss the original casts so I might do that sometime in the future idk. I'll also refer my atla cats as the warrior names I gave them so I wouldn't mistake when talking about their original form and wouldn't like, say everyone's name with 'cat' for the 'x' times. ;-;

Oni Lilyn 2020-10-26 | So I screwed up the script again, which is 100% my fault (2 strikes for me). I'm so mad at myself right now. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff is coming irl while I try to clear some projects out. I don't think I have enough energy to work on this part again so I decided it's best to drop it.

I'm still proud of this one. I try to be bolder with some dramatic movement, although I haven't realised the characters are characters being off models at some point. I guess that will be something to keep an eye on in the future.

Korra & Naga: Southern loners | Speedpaint

I wish the show could have focused more on her loneliness during the Southern water tribe compound. The only people there are the masters and they were there to train her. She only has Naga as her friend.

This could have explained her behaviour when Tenzin requested her to stay at Air Temple Island. She just made new friends in the city, and now was forced to stay away. Also, this may be the reason she was struggling to adapt Air nation culture and learn air bending, since the culture focus detached from the world to find their inner peace, and she didn’t want to be isolated again.

I don’t want this video to become super sad, so I pick some lift-up music at the half end.
I attempted to minimise the zoom, but my eyes aren’t really good, and I favour the quality of the artwork over the video so yeah… a lot of zooming (yikes).

I finally put avatar content in the map haha. I got an idea of drawing Zuko steals the hot air balloon to chase after the Avatar after the Black Sun battle. Don't worry, that Firebender soldier is not dead. He just got knockdown.

Appa is so adorable and I love him, even though drawing his armour is a pain. The last frame was unnecessary, but he looks so cute and he's so small in that shot and only lasts less than a second so...
