Saw that some folks were interested in my Kid Icarus AU that I mentioned in the last speedpaint... So here's some more Loon Icarus lore!
Specifically about Loon Pit :)
(He's pretty much my channel's mascot, he's popped in some of my vids already)
Loon Icarus takes place in a world where all divine beings take the form of cartoons. These beings are called “Immortoons”, and consist of gods, angels, monsters, etc. The mortals on the other hand, are normal.
Even the Immortoon worlds (Skyworld and Underworld) have a more painting-like look when compared to earth. For example… the earth’s ground and sea look realistic, but when you look up at the night sky, it looks like an oil painting.
The setting is a mix of Ancient Greece and the Roaring Twenties. Meaning that the humans have access to the technology of the 1920’s… such as cars, radio, television, planes, etc. There’s also a bit 1940’s influence with some film noir tropes, like detectives and gangsters.
The fashion and architecture of this world has a very Art Deco/Ancient Greek aesthetic.

Loon Pit
Affiliation: Palutena’s Army
Cartoon Chaos level: Acme (5th level)
(This is a power specific to Immortoons. I will explain further in the future)
Personality:
- Loon Pit is a chipper, witty, and goofy gentleman… As well as incredibly selfless and loyal to Palutena. As an adult (Physical age around late 30’s), he is less naive than his canon counterpart. Despite being an adult, he’s still a kid at heart. He has a corny and highly animated charm which most find either adorable or insufferable. As long as you stay on his good side, Loon Pit doesn’t appear really looney at all. It’s when he gets stressed out or takes lots of damage, that’s when he’ll snap. Be careful… he is a ticking time bomb.
- When Loon Pit is stressed out/hurt, he becomes a daffy, giddy, and off-the-walls maniac. This is an Immortoon defense mechanism, kind of like an adrenaline rush. He laughs through his pain and grins ear to ear in the face of danger. Despite this, he’s still loyal and focused enough to carry out his duties.
Role:
- Loon Pit is the captain of Palutena’s army. The greatest hero of Skyworld, a savior to mankind, and a mighty foe to the Underworld and Forces of Nature.
- ( May or may not to go through with this idea) Years after the Uprising, Pit meets the daughter of Hades… Makaria, Goddess of blessed death. They fall in love and get married. 30 years later they start a family of demigods. Their children are called the “Cartoon Cherubs” and they all serve in Palutena’s army.
Abilities:
- Animation Awaken: The ability to animate inanimate objects, such as weapons and vehicles.
- Inkdermis: The ability to coat different body parts in a thick, durable, and flexible ink skin. If used on limbs they are called “Rubberhose limbs”. If used on head, it becomes a “Blothead”. These parts are made up of a special type of ink skin which cannot be cut or shot through.
- Doodle Duplication: Can make doodle copies of himself.
- Smear dash: Can dash from one place to another in an instant, resembling a smear frame.
- Gag Reflex: No he doesn’t just puke on people, this is referring to the “joke” definition of gag. This is the ability to consume things like weapons and hide them inside body parts.
- Screwball state: A type of adrenaline rush and a warning of the Hyperloon form. Improved durability and stamina
- Hyperloon form: Immortoon equivalent of a rage mode. Improved strength and speed.
- Loongel form: The cartoon chaos corrupted form of an Angel. Only happens when an Acme Angel dies. They will transform into a Loongel, go on a feeding frenzy to restore their energy, and then resurrect as their normal self. These transformations are dangerous as they will corrupt the Angel little by little after every transformation.
- Can take apart and regrow body parts
- Super strength, speed, stamina, and flexibility.
Weaknesses:
- Still can’t fly by himself
- Ethinzer. An element created by Viridi specifically engineered to kill Immortoons. Can take the form of solid, liquid, or gas.
