Coarse for dull and damaged knives
Fine for polishing the knife and for quick touch-ups for an already sharp knife
Patented Edge Grip feature allows sharpening on the edge of the table or counter top- prevents the tip of larger knives from dragging over the surface of the counter
Compact for easy storage
Non-slip base for added stability and control
I bought a knife sharpener and was going to do a review but something funny happened while using the item so I thought I would share. The sharpener is a decent item for the price, better than the similar priced harbor freight sharpener I had attempted to use.
Knife sharpening can create a lot of heated arguments by different fans of different methods and equipment. I think the Kitchen IQ sharpener is one of the best cheap sharpeners and would use it happily with most low cost knives.
You do not want to press too hard, and if your knife is dull it will take a long time. Also, if your blade is factory cut at a different angle than the angle preferred by the Kitchen IQ, then you will have a terrible time getting the angle of the blade to be sharpened. On the other hand, I was able to quickly and easily sharpen several kitchen knives with this sharpener. It also has over 4,000 positive reviews on amazon and is listed as the number one seller in knife sharpeners.
If you are willing to spend a few extra dollars, I recommend people buy a sharpener that has the ability to sharpen different angles. I have a link to a slightly more expensive lansky that uses rods in a v fashion that will sharpen both 15 and 20 degree angles which will cover most knives.
