a reworking of TRUEFINAL2 by HEAVYVIPER, the MEGA DRIVE badman i collaborated with to make the track a reality in the first place. here, in a feat of excellence, it's been arranged to play on original MEGA DRIVE hardware.

"A collaboration with the enigmatic Halley Labs! "true_final2" by KITCALIBER, reworked for the Yamaha YM2612 and Texas Instruments SN76489A!

The idea was planted earlier this year, roughly five months after HALCYONDAZE launched. I had contributed some FM+PSG material to the album already, but the idea of a full-blown remix of "true_final2" was put forward. I knew straight away I wanted to do it, but wasn't sure how I could approach it.

Then it hit me: I'd already written my share of the riffs, so what if I just tried to squeeze the whole thing into the limitations of the Mega Drive?

And so, here it is! It took a fair bit of tweaking, and certain things had to be sacrificed, but I think it worked out famously. I just had to include "birds@sunset" as it's such a beautiful lead-in, too. A calm before the storm.
