In this rare backstage interview, KCCI Channel 8 catches up with KISS before the band's 1997 Alive/Worldwide Tour concert at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, where Iowa rockers Outhouse opened the show. The original lineup — Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss — had reunited and were at the height of their hugely successful reunion tour.
Already dressed in full stage regalia, the band appears with face paint, stage costumes, and platform boots. During the interview, they joke with KCCI reporter Cynthia Fodor while also discussing the demands of touring, life on the road, and the physical toll of performing more than 150 shows. Ace Frehley even explains why he had to stop dropping to his knees during performances after suffering injuries.
