Today we’re diving into a sermon from former sitcom star turned full-time Christian culture warrior Kirk Cameron — who claims that the hit show The Boys somehow “proves the Bible right.”

And honestly?
👉 This might be one of the most unintentionally self-owning apologetics videos I’ve seen in a long time.
👉 “The Most Disturbing Show on TV Just Proved the Bible Right”
The show he’s talking about?
📺 The Boys — the brutal anti-superhero satire that skewers:
celebrity culture
corporate greed
political propaganda
authoritarianism
media manipulation
performative morality
And yes…
👉 religion.
But somehow Kirk manages to spend an entire sermon talking about the themes of The Boys while almost completely ignoring the fact that the show also relentlessly satirizes Christianity and religious hypocrisy.
That omission?
💥 It tells you everything.
🤡 The “No Self-Awareness” Problem
Kirk repeatedly explains how The Boys exposes:
fake virtue
image management
corrupt authority figures
manipulative institutions
public morality hiding private depravity
…and then somehow fails to notice that millions of people feel exactly that way about:
👉 churches
👉 pastors
👉 televangelists
👉 Christian nationalism
👉 religious power structures
The irony is absolutely painful.
📚 Quoting the Bible Out of Context (Again)
At one point Kirk quotes:
“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Sounds deep…
Until you actually read the surrounding story in First Samuel and realize God immediately chooses David — who the text specifically describes as:
👉 handsome
👉 beautiful-eyed
👉 attractive
Which raises a pretty obvious question:
👉 Was God really ignoring outward appearance?
Or is Kirk just counting on his audience not reading the actual context?
🧠 “Trust God, Not Yourself”
One of the central messages in Kirk’s sermon is:
👉 Don’t trust your own heart
👉 Don’t trust yourself
👉 Human beings are fundamentally corrupt
But here’s the massive problem:
According to Christianity:
the Bible is contradictory
interpretation is required
God refuses to clearly reveal himself
and believers constantly disagree with each other
So if:
❌ I can’t trust myself
❌ I can’t trust my own reasoning
❌ God won’t show up directly
Then who am I supposed to trust?
👉 People like Kirk Cameron.
And THAT is where the real power dynamic enters the picture.
⚔️ The Pharaoh Problem
Kirk brings up Pharaoh as an example of corrupt human evil.
Tiny issue:
👉 According to the Bible, God repeatedly hardened Pharaoh’s heart.
Meaning:
💥 God intentionally prolonged the conflict
💥 God orchestrated the suffering
💥 God created the pretext for mass death and plagues
And the text explicitly says he did it:
👉 “for his glory.”
That’s not a triumph of justice.
👉 It’s divine manipulation.
🏰 “Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely”… Except When Convenient
Kirk repeatedly argues:
👉 power corrupts people
Then later pivots and says:
👉 power merely reveals corruption already inside people
Pick a lane.
The entire sermon constantly shifts between:
“humans are evil because of power”
“humans were already evil”
“systems are corrupt”
“only religion can save you”
without ever forming a coherent worldview.
📺 The Funniest Part?
Kirk openly admits:
👉 He has NOT watched The Boys.
Seriously.
So this entire sermon is basically:
💥 a moral lecture about a show he refuses to actually watch.
Imagine reviewing:
a book you never read
a movie you never saw
a religion you never studied
…and still pretending you fully understand it.

That actually explains a LOT about modern apologetics.

Meanwhile:
evil still exists
death still exists
suffering still exists
atrocities still happen constantly
So in what meaningful sense were these things “defeated”?
The Christian worldview constantly swings between:
👉 “Jesus already won”
and
👉 “evil is everywhere and Satan controls everything”
without ever reconciling the contradiction.
👑 “Jesus Is King”
Kirk also repeatedly calls Jesus:
👉 a king
Problem:
Jesus:
❌ never ruled territory
❌ never held political office
❌ never sat on a throne
❌ never governed a kingdom
Calling someone “king” symbolically doesn’t make them an actual king any more than calling someone “champ” makes them heavyweight champion of the world.
