This is a "DX" style hack by kkzero that adds full colorization support to Kirby's Dream Land 2 as well as several other helpful or appreciated features to improve the experience. All sprites, tiles, and backgrounds are fully, and carefully, colorized.
Examples of a few additional features are changing the color of the status bar and disabling animal friend music, reducing slowdown from the original game by using the Game Boy Color's double-speed mode, and even retaining Super Game Boy border support for use with certain emulators which allow having both an SGB border and GBC color at the same time, also called "SGB+GBC" mode.
Some gameplay of a few worlds is shown here. Enjoy! Please note that this is footage of one of the first versions of the patch, and that it may be improved further in the future.
