After learning Extra Courses for the Kirby series speedrun relay, I've been working on running "All Courses" since I usually try to knock out some kind of bonus category after the relay that would normally never actually be in the relay. Otherwise I'd probably never get around to those rarer categories. But today I had such a good run of Normal that I decided to bank a new record there instead of continuing into Extra. You normally do not fight Dedede between Course 8 and Extra Course 1 when running All Courses, but since I now had a fresh Extra Course file and still an outside chance to PB in All Courses, I decided to go ahead and continue into the Extra Courses after Dedede anyway. It looks like fighting Dedede added about 43s to the run, so you can do the math on what the All Courses time might have been had I not finished the Normal Course run. I did not have a great Extra Courses run (35:26), but still I held on just enough to PB in All Courses by 1 second lol.
Catastrophes: Ex4-4, Ex4-8
Misses: Ex3-6
Slow: 1-6, 8-3, Ex1-5, Ex3-7, Ex6-7
BTW I tried my hardest the throw away that Normal run. I hit the wrong button on the first bounce on 8-3, and you can see I only JUST BARELY didn't get smacked into another dimension by that Gordo, and then after that it was pretty lucky that I was able to work out how get into the hole. And then on 8-7 I turned very late with the UFO and I was almost ALMOST too low to clear the divider.
For some reason the starting point graphic was off-centre in Ex2-2 (even Kirby wasn't displayed in the correct place, and the camera was lower than normal which I guess means maybe this glitch could actually save or lose frames from camera movement) and it was tripping me out a little bit but I managed to ignore it and continue the run lol. I think this is like, kind of a known bug? but I forget what causes it, if I ever knew.
