Here's an interesting event. Near the dilapidated houses and the Electric Lounge stands a colorful beacon. Once this cheery tune starts the sky turns black and the beacon activates, spinning as the lights hit the ground. The point of all this? To heal! That's right, if you drive into the light your Air Ride machine gets some repairs. Quite nice actually.
To unlock this song, break the Warp Star while riding a Swerve Star. This is the other instance that breaking a machine with another unlocks something, which turns out to be a song for the sound test.
A similar event occurs where a single "restoration" spot appears in the city. It doesn't deactivate like the lighthouse and there's no special song for it. Instead a little jingle plays along with the message. However, as it gets used, the spot slowly shrinks until disappearing completely, but it won't shrink if your machine is in top condition. What's more, you have to find it without assistance.
