Recently I bought and returned the Kippertie LCminiND filter. Unfortunately I was sent an dud unit, that was missing the ON and OFF power switch engravings, the power switch was faulty and the unit would only power up if plugged into a USBC charger, but then wouldnt power off, it would go into sleep mode, but the switch would turn the unit off.
Once powered on it worked, but when I tested the LCmini ND at 2 stops under (o.6) ND engaged, natural light, no artificial fill, at 25fps base at 25p on a 25P timeline, my footage flickered like crazy. I tested the LCmini ND on a couple of other cameras and had the same result. I have never seen anything like this before, from any camera I have used with any combination of ND. The product has now been returned and refunded. But that refund wasn't easy to get.
Thus, this is not a product that I can use professionally or recommend anyone to buy. The build quality for the 900 Euro price tag is poor, and the customer service is not great. And the power button fault was a known issue by Kippertie, yet I was still sent the item that had not been addressed. In fcat Kippertie, intially just offered to send me a replacement power switch, instead of sending me a unit without issue. So my brand new item was DOA and as you can see produced server flickering, in both the shadows and highlights. Zoom into the highlights to see it.
