A bold initiative from KION India is giving opportunities to young women with technical skills from India’s rural areas: the project called ‘Girls-Only-Line’ provides them vocational training.
Usually, they marry young and can only dream of a career. But 21-year-old Snehal Bhingardeve now leads an assembler team of young women in her age group in KION India’s warehouse equipment production. A lot has changed for Snehal and her family since she started work. She supports her family financially: with her help, her older sister was able to train as a nurse in Pune, and she is helping to put her younger brother through school.
