Despite their early set time, Kinski’s pulsating, instrumental space rock sent Capitol Hill Block Party revelers into interstellar overdrive. The Seattle quartet ruled the Vera Stage, and after a blistering version of “Drink Up and Be Somebody,” the band members – bassist Lucy Atkinson, guitarist Matthew Reid Schwartz and drummer Barrett Wilke -- took a moment to wish guitarist Chris Martin a happy birthday, toasting him, appropriately enough, with a shot of whiskey.
