The 3DO console was quite unigue, it came out early on in the 32-Bit era, arguably the first console in that race, at least in North America. Many point to the high price tag of the console as its failure. This was due to 3DO Company licensing out the hardware for others to manufacture, which meant each console must be sold for a profit as most manufacturers were not making games as well, where console manufacturers routinely earn back their investment in the initial hardware.

Kingdom the Far Reaches was a unique Full Motion Video (FMV) game and really, other than Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, had not been seen often in gaming. Certainly not in the home console market. This game is unforgiving and will not hold your hand in any way so prepare to go through trial and error and repeating many scenes over and over till you figure out the right path.
