Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a 2025 action role-playing game developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver. The sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance (2018), the game was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 4 February 2025. It received generally favourable reviews from critics and had sold one million units a day after release.
Gameplay
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an open-world action role-playing game in which the protagonist is controlled from a first-person perspective. Missions and objectives are able to be managed in different ways, with NPCs and communities reacting respectively. In turn, the reactions to the player character (PC) will influence his daily life and character development.
Unlike the beginning of its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II does not start with Henry completely inexperienced and untrained. For the first time, the game features crossbows and early forms of firearms. The former can also be fired while riding.
The three skills Oratory, Charisma and Intimidation, that were applicable in dialogues with NPCs in Kingdom Come: Deliverance have been supplemented by Appearance, Coercion and Dominate in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Like its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II takes place in the early 15th century in the Kingdom of Bohemia, then part of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown and of the Holy Roman Empire, in what is now the Czech Republic. The game directly follows on from the end of the game's predecessor, and takes place in the "turmoil of a civil war", where Henry, the son of a blacksmith, will fight against Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and his allies. It will conclude Henry's story.
The game world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is twice as large as that of its predecessor. Instead of the latter's single connected world, the former encompasses two larger, freely explorable areas. One area is the Bohemian Paradise, a cultural landscape with lots of nature, while the other is the city of Kutná Hora (called by its original German name Kuttenberg in the game) and its surroundings. In the late Middle Ages, Kutná Hora was the second largest city in Bohemia after Prague, and one of the richest economic centers in the country due to silver mining and coinage.

![Grounded Last Base Tour [Good Bye Grounded 1]
Grounded is a zany, challenging, and memorable adventure that benefits from Obsidian’s instantly recognizable style, humor, and RPG bonafides, making it one of the best survival games in years. There aren’t many games that I’ve been anxious to dive back into after playing for over 100 hours, but Grounded still has me daydreaming about my next tiny expedition. Even the obnoxiously small inventory space, occasional lost treasures, and continued wonkiness and stability issues haven’t come close to throwing a wet blanket over an otherwise fantastic experience. It’s a testament then to how incredibly strong every other part of Grounded is that these issues did very little to cramp my style or my immense enjoyment. Dragons Dogma 2 is a 2024 action role-playing video game developed and published by Capcom. The sequel to Dragons Dogma (2012), the game is set in a fantasy-themed world parallel to the first game. Players control a customizable character through the games open world while hunting a dragon that chose them as the Arisen amid a geopolitical conflict by completing quests and gaining new equipment on the way with the aid of allies known as Pawns.
Dragons Dogma 2 was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on March 22, 2024. The game received generally positive reviews from critics and sold 3 million units by May 2024.
Gameplay
Dragons Dogma 2 is an action role-playing game played from a third-person perspective. The player takes on the role of a character called the Arisen, a hero marked by a dragon whom they must defeat. The player explores the world they live in, taking on quests, and fighting monsters, while being caught up in a geopolitical conflict between two kingdoms. To assist in this, the Arisen relies on allies called Pawns, non-playable characters who join the players party. These characters are AI-controlled, but function like player-controlled avatars, able to assist in fights, provide information on enemies, and give guidance to active quests. Players can each create and customize their avatar and their own Pawn character with different genders, appearances, and race. In addition, players can recruit two additional Pawns that have been created by other players.
Both the Arisen and Pawns each operate under a vocation – a class that defines what abilities and equipment they can use in combat, with different strengths and weaknesses. Vocations are split between basic, advanced and hybrid, the latter only accessible to the Arisen; furthermore, only the Arisen and their Pawn can change vocations. The game features several different vocations to choose from; several from Dragons Dogma make a return, whilst Strider and Ranger have been changed to Thief and Archer respectively. New hybrid vocations are included, including Mystic Spearhand, a variation of Mystic Knight, with characters able to utilize a bladed quarterstaff-like weapon called a duospear, and the Trickster, who uses spells that can confuse enemies and enhance Pawns in battle. Working with vocations improves them, unlocking additional abilities that can be acquired for use in combat. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a role-playing video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. The first mainline title in the Yakuza franchise developed as a turn-based RPG, it was released in Japan and Asia for PlayStation 4 on January 16, 2020. The western release of the game for PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 10, 2020 included new costumes, the English audio track and some previously paid DLC. This version was then released in Asia under the subtitle International on February 25, 2021 for Windows and Xbox platforms. The game was released worldwide for PlayStation 5 on March 2, 2021, and a version for Amazon Luna launched on December 10, 2021.
In contrast to previous Yakuza games that focused on the life of Kazuma Kiryu, a man trying to lead a normal life after leaving the yakuza lifestyle, Like a Dragon instead introduces a new protagonist named Ichiban Kasuga. After being imprisoned for 18 years only to then be betrayed by his former boss, Kasuga goes on a personal quest to become a hero and uncover the reason for his betrayal alongside his companions. Yakuza: Like a Dragon received positive reviews from both players and critics who enjoyed the narrative, characters, gameplay, unique take on the JRPG sub-genre, and presentation.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the last game in the series to use the Yakuza name outside of Japan, and the first to use the Japanese title worldwide (albeit as a subtitle). The game was followed up by a 2023 spin-off title, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which follows Kiryu on his own adventure taking place concurrently with the events of this game. Both games were followed up by a mainline installment, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, released in 2024.
In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, a major departure from previous Yakuza games is the battle system. Instead of the real-time action beat em up mechanics of previous games, Yakuza: Like a Dragon features a real-time turn-based RPG type combat, with a four-person battle team. However, unlike typical turn-based RPGs, characters may use nearby surrounding items such as bicycles to attack enemies (if the items are near the enemies) or may kick surrounding items to their target if there is an interactive item in the environment on the way to the enemy, an aspect that returns from the previous Yakuza games. Players can also call on various party assists to strengthen the party or defeat enemies, with more assists added as the story progresses or through the completion of sub-stories. Players can still continue exploring the world after completing the game. A new game plus mode with additional difficulty settings exclusive to this mode was released as paid downloadable content for the Japanese version of the game, but it comes as a standard feature in the Western release.
Complementing the new combat system are Jobs, a form of character classes similar to other RPGs. Players can change any party members job to better fit the partys playstyle. Currently, there are two jobs that can only be obtained via paid downloadable content.
Similar to previous games in the Yakuza series, side-quests (known as sub-stories in-game) can be taken up by the player to gain additional rewards and players are also able to enjoy the various side activities around the map such as karaoke. A new side-activity introduced in this game is Dragon Kart, which is similar to other kart racing games in terms of its gameplay.
