A progressive metal song based on the episode "Dragon Quest" from "MLP: Friendship is Magic" and is the second song on my upcoming concept album and a continuation of the first song called "Misbegun". Listen that one here: youtu.be/jP0DDFs2Nx4

My concept album takes place in a more harsh and dark type of Equestria, like a mix of Dark Souls and the show. In this Equestria, the dragons are called "The Horde" and have a history with the region around Ponyville, Canterlot and Cloudsdale. 1000 years ago, The Horde was banished to the Badlands by Queen Celestia. Spike, however, was allowed to stay with Twilight Sparkle when she hatched him during her test. She was convinced that she could make him fit in and become one of them. Sadly, this is not how it plays out in the album. The lyrics, pacing and structure of the album are made so there's enough information to know what's going on but still leaving a lot of room to make your own interpretation.

The first part of the story, named "Misbegun", is about Spike, the baby dragon, who leaves Ponyville to find his true self and purpose in the Badlands where the dragons (The Horde) hail.

The second part, named "King of the Horde", focus on when Spike meet these other dragons and, eventually (after an unspecified amount of time), becomes the king.

The third and final part, named "Their Blackest Day", is about the inevitable annihilation of Ponyville, Canterlot and Cloudsdale, lead by Spike, the new king of The Horde.
