Hundreds of Norwegians lined the streets of Oslo outside the Royal Palace to mourn the death of 89-year-old King Harald V. Crowds gathered with umbrellas and Norwegian flags, standing in the downpour to pay their respects as the motorcade passed through the city.

Harald became King of Norway in 1991 after his father, Olav V, died at age 87. Harald's son, 53-year-old King Haakon VIII, is now the leader of the Scandinavian nation's royal family.
