The King 2 Hearts is a Korean drama about a fictional constitutional monarchy in South Korea whose goal is to use military teamwork and a North/South marriage to bring the two countries together. The king's brother, a playboy prince, is forced to join a N/S team of officers in an international competition. The head of the team is the daughter of an important North Korean official, and a Special Forces officer. The inevitable getting acquainted period is complicated by a real assassination attempt on the prince through explosives placed in his treadmill, and a fake war meant to see if the team really learned to trust one another. The attempt fails when the prince shoots his team leader.
The complicated relationship between the two is made even worse when a rumor of an engagement leads to a media blitz against the king. To protect his brother, the prince goes public at a soccer match to announce that the marriage despised by the public is his fault for having fallen in love with the girl, an untruth at this early stage of his conflicted feelings. But the North/South marriage becomes too complicated at first and, like today's real politics, has its ups and downs.
