This is Prof. Matt McCormick's second lecture on Functionalism for his Philosophy of Mind course at California State University, Sacramento. In it, he reviews the theoretical developments that led to functionalism's becoming the dominant view of the mind in the 20c, and he reviews the different families of theories: Machine Functionalism, Psycho-functionalism, and Analytic Functionalism.
