Iranian film Parviz, directed by Majid Barzegar, won the Suvarna Chakoram (Golden Crow Pheasant) award at the 18th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) that concluded on 13th December, 2013.
The film tells the story of a 50-year-old man who has lived his entire life with his father and never held a job and finds himself kicked out of his home one fine day.
Kamaleswar Mukherjee won the Rajatha Chakoram (Silver Crow Pheasant) award for the best director for his film Meghe Dhaka Tara, based on the life of Bengali auteur Ritwik Ghatak.
It also won the Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award for the best Asian film in the competition category.
The awards were given away by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the valedictory ceremony held at the Nishagandhi Auditorium, Kanakakunnu, here.
Korean director Kim ki-Duk was the chief guest at the function.
