Clipper is a new free utility addition to the Kilohearts ecosystem.
A clipper clips peaks, reducing dynamic range, and introducing distortion.
Unlike a limiter though, there's no attack or decay time, just a hard / soft knee, so a clipper is great for high-energy transients, like in drum sounds.
There's no pumping, no side effects outside clipping the transients themselves. And the distortion can add harmonics and sizzle right where the sound needs it most.
