In this episode, I begin from my campsite at the Kilmarnock Lockstation (Lock 24) and paddle northeast to the Burritt's Rapids Lockstation (Lock 17). I took the canoe through 7 locks: Merrickville - Locks 21/22/23, Clows - Lock 20, Upper Nicholsons - Lock 19, Lower Nicholsons - Lock 18, and Burritts Rapids - Lock 17. This entire portion of the journey was paddled on the Rideau River. I paddled under a total of 3 bridges including the Mill St Swing Bridge (County Road 43), the Upper Nicholsons Swing Bridge (Andrewsville Rd), and the Burritts Rapids Swing Bridge (Grenville St). I stopped in the community of Merrickville where I picked up some groceries from the Merrickville Food Market and had lunch at the Main Street Family Restaurant. The municipalities I paddled through include the Township of Merrickville-Wolford & the municipality of North Grenville which are both part of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. I also briefly passed through the Township of Montague which is part of Lanark County, and the City of Ottawa. After arriving at my destination, I spent the evening camping on the grounds of the Burritts Rapids Lockstation.

The canoe is a Bluewater Peterborough 16', made of Kevlar and manufactured in Guelph, ON in the early 1990's. I filmed this video using Samsung Galaxy S10 & Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones. The GPS I used for the trip is a Garmin eTrex 30.
