I didn't intend to run from the scrake on wave 7. I ran out of lar ammo and was looking to find an ammo box when he auto died =/.

It's pretty much hit or miss against the Patriarch. Without any perk bonuses, your only option is to buy an xbow, some pipes, and hope your aim is good that round.
