Kiley Reid (19MFA) is a critically acclaimed Iowa Writers’ Workshop alumna. She participated in a virtual event where she read from her New York Times bestselling debut novel Such a Fun Age.

The recent Truman Capote Fellow read a passage from her novel, which is currently being adapted into a film by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Lena Waithe. Reid’s writing has been featured in numerous publications, including the New York Times, Ploughshares, and Lumina, where her short story earned first place in the 2017 Flash Prose Contest.

Jade Jones (17MFA), an Iowa Writers’ Workshop alumna and former Kimbilio Fiction Fellow, who hosted the discussion. She is a lecturer in the Department of Writing Arts at Rowan University and the managing editor of Glassworks.
