In this segment of the Thrash 'N' Trash Kid's Corner, I am reviewing and demonstrating the all new LEGO City Garbage Truck! (Set 60118) This brand new set was just released today, December 1, 2015. This set is modeled after an American-style front loading garbage truck. Along with the truck, this set also includes two workers, a dumpster, and some assorted garbage to fill the dumpster with. The functional loading "forks" can actually pick up the dumpster and empty the contents into the body of the truck. When the truck fills up, the rear of the truck opens and the body raises to empty out the trash. The set is built from 248 pieces, and is divided into 3 simple "sub sets" for easy building! The recommended age on this set is 5 to 12 years old. Please note that this does contain many small parts that may pose a choking hazard to small children. The set is pretty easy to build, and can be built in 30 to 60 minutes. There are a few stickers which may require some adult assistance to place on the model. Over all this set is a really fun build and the truck is surprisingly detailed! The only real downside I've found so far is that the truck tends to spill a lot of the "garbage" when raising up the dumpster. All in all, this set provides some fun play and would make a great addition to any LEGO city or toy garbage truck collection!
