Top tips for littles:
-girls might be easier than boys, BUT making it a game always helps and music never hurts either.
-if they shut down, it may be too hard so do it alongside them and encourage them to do some
-call ALL the GOOD you see and some praise in front of their siblings or dad later really encourages their heart
-having 3-4 small set responsibilities they do daily so they slowly feel more confident and experience some mastery of a skill (very rewarding for anyone and gives confidence you can do harder things later on).
-even if it’s a fail the first 6-7 times don’t give up, little by little they will learn
-help them to do everything without complaining and arguing (this means I have to check how I’m doing in this department too 🫣)
-teach them that work is GOOD, even in the perfect garden of eden, there was work, it is a pre-fall thing. We are made to work, so let them help even if it’s not actually “helpful” now. I can tell you my 6 and 8 year old are genuinely helpful, so start them young 🙌
