Learning how to minister to and encourage yourself in the face of trials, rejection, and hardship is key in positioning yourself for promotion and the fulfillment of God’s promises. David faced rejection and hardship for many years before becoming king, and it was right before being anointed as king that he faced his hardest test when his own men turned against him. Instead of becoming discouraged, David strengthened himself in the Lord and won a great victory, leading into his promotion.
