In less than three years of IBM’s involvement with Ceph, Ceph has become the storage foundation for at least 15 different products at IBM. IBM has committed to Ceph as a foundational technology driving billions of dollars of revenue for IBM.
Not only has IBM nearly doubled the number of paid engineers working on Ceph daily, but is in the process of building out two new labs for Ceph at the expense of millions of dollars apiece.
As traditional storage appliances are progressively replaced with storage that is consumable in a cloud-like environment, Ceph more and more emerges as not just a technology, but the technology that can provide that infrastructure. This talk will describe the vision that IBM has for Ceph as the foundational technology for the future of Enterprise storage.
