The portable audio recorder I use for recording my own sound effects when out and about: amzn.to/2Y5CPK8 (Zoom H1n)
The audio interface I recommend: amzn.to/2Bc4CiP (Focusrite Scarlett)
A very reasonably priced large diaphragm condenser microphone I think sounds really good for its price: amzn.to/2YFqifo (Audio Technica AT2020)
The headphones I recommend: amzn.to/2YIPwJI (AKG K702’s). The AKG 712 Pro’s sound even better but are a bit more expensive: amzn.to/37zvcyw
The shotgun microphone I recommend: amzn.to/3e9AQdh (Rode NTG2). I use these regularly when on jobs, and they hold up pretty well when compared to much more expensive alternatives.
Surprisingly decent sounding studio monitors for the price: amzn.to/2Y8b6IH (KRK Rokit). The Presonus Eris monitors (amzn.to/2Bd4nnO) get great reviews aswell - I haven’t tried them personally but they might be worth a look.
Finally, whilst recording the sound effect gets you most of the way there, the next stage is processing the sound. If unsure where to start, there are websites such as plugin boutique (pluginboutique.com/?a_aid=5ee7ec6f10f0d) that let you search for different audio plugins you might want to use for your project.
