Kestrel Fields Natural Area opened during the Spring of 2023. On September 9, the community gathered for the Kestrel Fields Opening Celebration. The event opened with speeches from Katie Donahue (Director of the Natural Areas Department), Stacy Lischka (Executive Director, Poudre Valley Community Farms), and Susan Gutowsky (City Council Member). It also included local food from Poudre Valley Community Farms, live music from Irish Elementary’s Mariachi Band and the Blue Grama Band, a kestrel program presented by Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, and art from the Plein Air Painters and Kestrel Fields Art Studio.
