At long last, here's the newest song in the Jenna Marbles musical, "Long Long Life Journey." This song is called "Kermit's Lullaby."
I had been working on this song during the past three months, struggling with what I wanted it to be about, and had an idea that there could be a more subtle and touching moment in the show where Jenna sings this song to Kermit when he's having a "crying fit." Maybe after "Nasty Boy." She'd be trying to calm Kermit down by singing this! She's showing Kermit that there's really no reason to be crying or freaking out- everything is ok! It would end in a duet between them, but Andy (who plays Kermit) is away for Christmas break! The song will appear frequently throughout the show, which is why it's mostly a repetitive short phrase for this one.
I also wanted to experiment with a lullaby kind of song, AND try my hand at an ABC-ABC rhyming scheme, which actually proved the most challenging to do yet. I wanted to rhyme everything with the line before, and it kept sounding completely wrong, but I'm happy with the results.
I have ONE more song from the musical that I haven't released yet! It's a duet between Kermit and a bottle of Irish Spring soap! It'll be an exclusive song for those who attend my concert in February!
