In spite of it being a cold, dreary, drizzly, breezy morning at Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky, I managed to drum up a Kentucky Warbler and grab some nice footage. This is an understory bird, rarely seen in full sun—I'm amazed at how well the camera (a Canon 7D DSLR) handled the dark, shaded conditions.
The song of the male is variously described as sounding like "churry, churry, churry" or "churrup, churrup, churrup." The call is a sharp "chip."
