Loggins and McDonald together wrote "What A Fool Believes," which they each performed and recorded separately. The Doobie Brothers' recording of the song, largely considered to be the best-known version, went on to become a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won two additional Grammy Awards, three Grammys total, at the 1980 Grammys, including Record Of The Year and Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocals for McDonald, becoming one of the biggest winners of the night.
