Kennin-ji Zen Temple is located in the Gion District of Kyoto City and is the oldest Zen Temples in Kyoto City. It is also considered as one of the five great Zen Temples of Kyoto City. Currently it also serves as one of the head temples of Rinzai Sect of Japanese Zen Buddhism.
