To Catch a Predator is a popular American reality television series, which featured on NBC. The show was hosted by Chris Hansen and was partly filmed with hidden investigative camera’s. The series aimed to catch the sexual predators, who would arrive at a sting house to have intercourse with a minor. Most episodes would typically end in an arrest. The minors were actually adults who were merely impersonating underage persons.
The series debuted in November 2004.12 investigations were featured in total and they took place all across the United States. However, the series came to a shocking halt in 2008.
On several occasions To Catch a Predator, makers had been accused of creating the news, rather than reporting news. Several media portals at the time had claimed that the show was blurring the line between being a news organisation and an agency of law enforcement. However, To Catch a Predator was finally cancelled in 2008.
The show had been accused of Entrapment for years, which is a practice where a law enforcement official provokes a person to commit a crime, which they would have otherwise been unlikely to commit. However, an incident that took place in 2008, that became the catalyst leading to the show’s end.
In 2008, Louis Conradt who was an assistant district attorney in Rockwall County, Texas, had shot himself after he was caught talking as well as exchanging pictures with a volunteer who had posed as a 13-year-old boy. Louis Conradt shot himself when NBC and local police barged into Conradt’s home with the camera crew. NBC and the Local Police brought the camera crew into Conradt’s home as he hadn’t shown up for a pre-scheduled meeting.
The 60-year-old American Television Journalist Chris Hansen was the host of To Catch a Predator. Chris Hansen also hosts Killer Instinct on Investigation Discovery, a show which revolves around and documents homicide investigations. Chris Hansen is currently running a YouTube show named Have A Seat With Chris Hansen these days.

David Paul Demers is a potential predator that was involved in the Flagler Beach, Florida edition of To Catch a Predator. He is most known for his unique phrases within his chatlog as well as his interview.
Trivia
Despite his not guilty plea, Demers the first of the Flagler Beach suspects to be convicted.[2]
Demers lost a lot of weight in prison and looked emaciated in his post-release RSO mugshot in Florida. His recent RSO mugshots show that he has put that weight back on and then some.
Biography
David was a thirty-one-year-old teacher at a technical college in Orlando when he began chatting with a girl he believed to be fourteen named Anni. He at first tries to impress the girl by speaking to her in very basic Japanese and bragging that he has been to Japan. He then says he was asked to audition for the Blue Man Group. He initiated in platonic friendly chat but gradually went into grooming talk, testing her boundaries as he introduced the girl to sexual terms and innuendo. The testing of the waters continued until Demers asked the girl to sleep with him while comparing himself to her ex-boyfriend. Demers would go as far as to send various pictures of his penis in various poses asking how his penis compared to that of a thirteen-year-old boy. The chat continued for nearly a month with Demers making a date to go to the trap house for a sexual encounter with the girl.
The Sting
David arrived at the trap house in Flagler after a nearly hour and a half drive with condoms and massage oil and walked in the house with an erection upon seeing the decoy. When he tries to move in for a hug, Chris Hansen comes out to let him know there will be no hugs tonight. When questioned about his motives, Demers seems to own up to the things he said, did, and sent. This is probably because he believed Hansen to be police. However, Hansen let Demers know this was not the case and let him know that he walked into a Dateline sting.
Thinking the worst was over, David makes more confessions and lambasts his bad behavior saying he needed to be caught and he should have stopped talking to the decoy. He then takes his leave cordially by telling Chris and the camera crew, Gentlemen, have a good night. He was then arrested by Flagler Beach police immediately upon exiting the house.
Despite his many confessions and admission of wrongdoing to Chris Hansen, Demers pled not guilty in court. He would ultimately be sentenced in 2007 for three felonies: Using the Internet to Attempt to Solicit a Child for Sex/Lewdness, Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition Victim Under 16 Years Old Offender Over 18 Years Old, and Attempted Lewd and Lascivious Battery Sex With Victim 12-15 Years Old. Demers was given twenty-five months in prison followed by eight years of sex offender probation and RSO designation.[2] David would move back to his native New Hampshire after his release where he is featured on their sex offender registry.
