Reconstruction of John F. Kennedy and John Glenn Cape Canaveral tour on February 23, 1962, three days after the first crewed American orbital spaceflight (Mercury-Atlas 6).

Both men visit Mercury Control and Pad 14, followed by an award ceremony in front of Hangar S. Glenn then shows the Friendship 7 capsule to Kennedy and family.

CBS TV other footage and was used (from youtube.com/@VincePalamarasecretservicejfk and youtube.com/@HelmerReenberg).

The video was remasted to improve color balance and stability. AI upscale (Topaz AI) was used to convert the video to HD resolution. While it works in most cases, some artifacts are present in some sequences.

Sound and image cleanup, AI upscale and color restoration by RetroSpace HD. Some background sounds were added.
