The board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts voted to close the facility for two years of maintenance and to etch President Donald Trump’s name onto its main building. #trump #washington #politics #news #usa

The plan is to inscribe Trump’s name to commemorate his role in refurbishing the center, according to a person familiar with the decision.

The decision drew sharp condemnation from Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, who said the board is "again openly flouting a court order" by voting to put President Trump’s name on the building.
