Kenmore model 19233 Sewing 4 to 6 layers of leather. Please note that I am not using Nylon thread, which is a requirement for sewing leather. This machine will struggle to use that thread. Therefore, this is simple demoing the power of the machine, not that you can actually sew leather projects on it.

Since Sears is no longer in the sewing machine business you can find this machine at a clearance price of $299 as of the date of this post. The Janome DC5100 is the current version of this machine, which sells for several hundred dollars more.
