This song is the Compton rap star’s first release since “Not Like Us,” his chart-topping track that arrives shortly after he was announced as next year’s Super Bowl halftime show headliner in New Orleans — news that has ruffled a few feathers.
While everyone was out partying at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), Kendrick Lamar pronounced the party dead. With the kind of authority to do that after effectively curb-stomping rap’s former golden boy, Drake, into submission. Lest Drake get a little too comfortable, Lamar has decided to resurrect the encounter at ongoing intervals.
Drake is obviously not safe from Lamar’s wrath; even though he didn't pull up, he’s still the avatar for the kind of pop-rap Lamar holds in such disdain. “Just walk that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid.
