All of the clips in the video were filmed on Saturday September 4th, 2021. This video summarizes the eighth day of my solo canoeing adventure on the Rideau Canal.

In this episode, I begin from my campsite at Rideau River Provincial Park and paddle north along the Rideau River to the Long Island Lockstation. Along the way I made a visit to Manotick where I toured the Watson's Mill and stopped for lunch. This entire portion of the journey was paddled on the Rideau River. When I reached the lock station, I took the canoe through the Long Island flight of 3 locks: Locks 14/15/16. I paddled under a total of 4 bridges including the Constable Hiram C. O’Callaghan
Bridge (Highway 416), the Kars Bridge (Roger Stevens Drive), the Manotick Bridge (Bridge Street), and the Nicolls Island Swing bridge . The municipalities I paddled through include the City of Ottawa and the municipality of North Grenville, which is part of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.

The canoe is a Bluewater Peterborough 16', made of Kevlar and manufactured in Guelph, ON in the early 1990's. I filmed this video using Samsung Galaxy S10 & Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones. The GPS I used for the trip is a Garmin eTrex 30.
