Welcome to a new-to-you track from Kelly Finnigan ahead of his forthcoming compilation long player, B-Sides, Singles & Forgotten Gems. "The Hurting Truth” was originally written at the tail end of the A Lover was Born sessions and was one of the first things Finnigan recorded and produced at his studio Little Blue in Ohio. Featuring longtime Colemine comrade Jimmy James (Parlor Greens), this track has the raw mood of early Stax Wendy Rene 45s and the sonic soul quality of The Spoilers.
“I had just gotten into my new space in Cincinnati,” recalls Finnigan. “The day before Jimmy came, Terry (Cole, Colemine’s label head) had come over and played bass on a different song…so when Jimmy came early, and Terry wasn't here, I was like, ‘Yo, Jimmy, I want you to play on this song I'm working on.’ Jimmy's always down…and so he played the bass… doing his thing, and then he played the guitar part…and he helped finish the song, and then I finished the words and melodies… it came together fast.”
"The Hurting Truth" serves as the forthcoming compilation's closing track. B-Sides, Singles & Forgotten Gems will be out worldwide via Colemine Records on August 14th, 2026.

“Yours” is GFO’s first studio track to feature Camellia Hartman on vocals. The songwriting was inspired by the organ stylings of Ed Lincoln and Dick Hyman; a bluesy soul tune with plenty of drama and kitsch. It’s an homage to the mid-century bachelor pad music that’s often overlooked in dollar bins.

Colemine is proud to present this 45 from Aaron Frazers Into The Blue LP.
This one is a special one. Two cuts featuring the rhythm section of the legendary
Cold Diamond & Mink, the backbone of the Finnish soul label Timmion.
The B-side is the album closer on Into The Blue and for good reason. Really feels
like a sweet and soulful send off at the end of a movie. Lamenting the ups and
downs of love, feeling foolish in the face of failure, but continuing to try nonetheless.
Feels like a lost sample brought into the here and now expertly by Aaron and
Goose.
