This interview is especially poignant because it was broadcast exactly one month before Keith Moon's death on September 7, 1978, at the age of 32. He and Pete Townshend appeared on Good Morning America to promote Who Are You, the final studio album by The Who to feature Moon.

The host who interviewed Keith Moon and Pete Townshend was David Hartman. Hartman was the original anchor of Good Morning America and hosted the program from its debut in 1975 until February 1987.
