“I wanted to create something that would resonate with Preston's work but wouldn't be a copy.”
In what she calls a "last symbolic artistic collaboration together”, artist Pascale Jean (@pascale.papercut) takes us behind the creation of her CBC Arts logo for the month of June, a memorial to her late friend, Preston Buffalo.
Preston, who designed his own take on the logo in 2018, was a two-spirit Cree artist who passed away unexpectedly last year.
“I hope this work will allow us to not only give a mass to Preston, but also celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and Indigenous history month through his memory.”
